Websites for Plumbers & Tradies That Bring Phone Calls

A tradie’s website has exactly one job: make the phone ring. Yet most plumber, electrician and builder websites I audit — from Sydney to Toronto to Manchester — are built like brochures instead of lead machines. Here’s what actually works.

The 3-Second Rule

Someone with a burst pipe doesn’t browse. Within three seconds your site must show: what you do, where you work, and how to call you right now. That means a headline like “24/7 Emergency Plumbing in [City]” and a phone button visible without scrolling — on every page.

Click-to-Call Everything

On mobile, your phone number must be a tappable button, not text. I put one in the header, one after every service description, and a sticky bar at the bottom of the screen. This one change typically lifts calls by 20–30%.

Reviews Front and Center

Emergency customers choose on trust, fast. Pull your Google reviews onto the homepage — star rating, count, and two or three real quotes. “300+ local reviews, 4.9★” beats any marketing copy you could write.

One Page Per Service

“Blocked drains”, “hot water systems” and “leak detection” should each have their own page. Why? Because that’s how people search — and each page can rank separately on Google. This is the foundation of local SEO for small business.

Show Your Face

A photo of you (or your team) with your van outperforms every stock photo ever taken. People let you into their homes — they want to see who’s coming.

What It Costs

A call-generating tradie website is not a big project: my Basic and Favourite plans cover it, delivered in about a week. See a live example in my recent projects, or tell me about your trade here.
