Bangladesh’s e-commerce market keeps growing at over 20% per year, and it’s never been more realistic to sell online — from a Facebook page to a proper store. Here’s the complete launch roadmap I walk clients through.
Step 1: Move Beyond Facebook Selling
F-commerce is where most Bangladeshi sellers start — but a Facebook page can’t rank on Google, build an email list, or scale ads efficiently. A real store gives you ownership: your customers, your data, your brand.
Step 2: Choose Your Platform
For selling inside Bangladesh, WooCommerce on WordPress is usually best — it integrates directly with local payments and lets you add unlimited products without monthly platform fees. Selling internationally too? Read my full Shopify vs WooCommerce comparison.
Step 3: Payments Bangladeshi Customers Actually Use
- bKash / Nagad / Rocket — mobile payments are king; integrate via their merchant APIs or an aggregator.
- SSLCommerz or ShurjoPay — one integration gives you cards + mobile banking together.
- Cash on delivery — still 70%+ of orders; plan for it operationally.
Step 4: Delivery Partners
Pathao Courier, Steadfast and RedX cover most of the country with COD collection. Integrate at least two — coverage and reliability vary by area.
Step 5: The Product Page Formula
Real photos (multiple angles), price with delivery cost visible, size/spec details, and reviews. Bangladeshi buyers are cautious — every trust signal raises conversion.
Realistic Budget
A professional WooCommerce store with local payments and delivery integration runs ৳70,000–120,000 ($600–1,000) — my Premium plan covers up to 50 products, payment setup and 60 days of support. Tell me what you sell and I’ll map out your launch.
